You bring your people, we provide clay, ideas and guidance, and you all get to keep something you made yourself.

Private pottery parties at Amfora are designed for groups who want to get their hands dirty and do something different.

It's your time to get messy, together.

We take care of the clay, the wheels, the instruction, and the chaos. You just show up, commit to the bit, and leave knowing something you made with your own hands is on its way.

Sessions run for two or three hours - time for a proper go at the clay, plus space for conversation, a stickybeak around the ceramics studio, and cleanup without anyone being rushed. For groups of 10 or more, we bring in a second teacher and split into two smaller groups so everyone gets proper attention throughout.

Make it yours

Before you book, decide what you'd like to get out of the session. Want to focus on the wheel? Hand build something specific? We can guide your group through making a particular piece - candelsticks, a travel mug, a charcuterie board, a vase. Or keep it open and see where the clay takes you.

The details

Duration: 2-3 hours, depending on the activity you choose - and that's flexible, just ask.
Pricing: From $100 per person, depending on group size and duration.
Min group size: 4 people
Max group size: 20 people, maybe a couple more at a pinch.
- NB. Parties of 10 or more are split into two groups, each with a dedicated teacher, and will require 3 hours.
Includes: Clay, all materials, and teaching throughout.
Firing: Pieces can be glazed and fired for an additional fee of $10 per piece.
Aprons: Provided, but maybe don't wear your best clothes!
Refreshments: BYO! You are very welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy before, during and after the session.
