Studio membership gives you access to Amfora’s space, equipment and kilns on your own terms. No class structure, no instructor. Just you, the clay, and as much time as you need to develop your practice.

Which one is right for you?
Once or twice a month: one-off sessions.
Three to six times a month: casual membership. From your third wheel session in a month, it costs the same or less than one-off sessions.
Seven or more times a month: full membership.
Ready to commit: choose a Quarterly or Annual full membership for best value and benefits.
All prices include GST. Member discount codes are valid with an active membership. One discount code per booking.
How to start
Book an induction. A 30–45 minute studio induction is $30 from 1 November and includes an Amfora branded tea towel. New full members get an Amfora apron as well.
Or come and see the space any time during our opening hours, before you decide.
Choose how you’ll use the studio. Join as a casual or full member within 14 days and the $30 comes off your first payment. Or book one-off sessions and it comes off your first session.
Book your sessions. You’ll get your booking link after you join.
Finishing an Amfora course? Your induction is free in the final 15 minutes of your last class.

Shop & Market
Amfora shop is open for sales to the public during any of our staffed hours.
On the second Saturday of each month, the studio presents a ceramics market alongside the Abbotsford Convent Farmers Market.
Members are invited to include their work for sale, and volunteer on market day.

Wheels, tools and equipment are all here. Clay and studio glazes are included. Firing costs apply.
Full members also enjoy free access to intermediate guided tuition sessions.

Stoneware reclaim clay and studio glazes are included in your session or membership. Specialty clay is available to buy onsite.
Materials
We only supply and fire clay and glazes that are suitable for stoneware temperatures (Cones 8-10). Please do not bring earthenware, low-fire or mid-fire clay or glazes into the studio without discussing with us first.

Full members get a dedicated shelf. Casual members get a 21L tub. Everyone can use the shared shelves for up to 2 weeks per piece.
All members, regardless of subscription duration, are required to attend an induction session before practicing at Amfora - this is to show you around our studio and familiarise you with our ways of working and guidelines. To sign up, please book your induction, or contact us to discuss options.

Yes, you can look in the main classroom during any of our staffed hours.
For a full tour you need to book an induction. It takes 30–45 minutes, costs $30, and it comes off your first month if you join within 14 days. You'll also receive a complimentary Amfora tea towel.
Casual or one-off?
If you come three or more times a month, casual membership works out cheaper. It also lets you book any time from 7am to midnight, not just during staffed hours.
Can I switch between memberships?
Yes, you can switch to a different membership option at the end of your current cycle. Please provide 14 days' notice via email.
